Our Communication Policy

  • We communicate directly with the Team Member, not their parent or guardian, regarding all employment matters (scheduling, pay, performance, disciplinary, etc.).

  • This protects the privacy of every Team Member and ensures compliance with federal and Georgia employment laws.

  • We encourage you to support your child in learning responsibility and independence through their job experience.

 

What Parents Can Do

✅ Encourage your child to speak directly with their Manager if they have a question or concern.

✅ Remind them to check their schedule, messages, or team portal for updates.

✅ Review the For Parents & Guardians section on this website for general information about youth employment and THE COMPANY standards.

What We Cannot Discuss

🚫 Individual schedules, pay rates, hours, paycheck info, discipline, or employment status.

🚫 Any internal THE COMPANY information that is confidential between THE COMPANY and the Team Member.

Parents & Guardian Resources

We understand that parents and guardians want to stay informed and support their child’s success. Below are a few general resources that explain how our team operates and what your child can expect while working with THE COMPANY.

These resources are for informational purposes only. All employment-related communication must be handled directly with the Team Member.

We take pride in helping Team Members grow both personally and professionally.

 

Work Hours & Youth Employment

Team Members under the age of 18 must follow Georgia’s Child Labor Laws regarding work hours and school schedules.

 

Pay Information (General Overview)

Our Team Members are paid weekly, every Friday, by direct deposit (ACCOUNT MUST HAVE TEAM MEMBER NAME AS AN ACCOUNT HOLDER)

  • Each paycheck covers hours worked during the Wednesday–Tuesday work week.

  • Because payroll is processed after all hours are reviewed and verified, pay is issued approximately 10 days after the work week ends (this is sometimes called being “10 days in the hole”).

  • For example, hours worked from March 5–11 would be paid on March 21.

 

Communication Policy Reminder

All communication about employment (schedules, pay, performance, etc.) must be between the Company and the Team Member only.
We appreciate your understanding that we cannot discuss individual employment information with parents or third parties.

 

Safety & Conduct

We maintain strict standards for safety, cleanliness, and conduct across all Subway® locations.
Team Members are trained in:

  • Food safety and handling procedures

  • Guest service expectations

  • Cleanliness and uniform requirements

  • Emergency and safety protocols

 

How Parents Can Support

You can help your child succeed by:

  • Encouraging them to communicate directly with their Manager

  • Helping them plan for transportation and punctuality

  • Supporting good time management and responsibility

  • Celebrating their milestones and progress
